Safeguarding

Protecting and promoting the welfare of everyone involved with Wednesday Night FC is one of our highest priorities. We want all players, coaches, volunteers and participants to enjoy football in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment, both on and off the pitch.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we are committed to creating a culture where everyone feels respected, supported and protected.

How We Promote Safeguarding

We ensure the right people are involved

  • All relevant volunteers and coaches undergo appropriate safeguarding checks and training.
  • We are committed to recruiting suitable individuals who share our values and commitment to participant welfare.

We create a safe and inclusive environment

  • Players, coaches and volunteers are expected to follow our codes of conduct and club values.
  • We promote respect, equality, inclusion and positive behaviour at all sessions.
  • We regularly review our practices and adopt safeguarding guidance from the Jersey FA and other relevant organisations.

We have clear reporting procedures

  • We have a designated Club Welfare Officer who acts as the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns, welfare issues or questions.
  • All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and managed in line with our safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Our safeguarding information and key contacts are available through our website and club communications.
